Wind River Food Sovereignty Project
The mission of the Wind River Food Sovereignty Project is to increase the supply of local, healthy, affordable food on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming by supporting Reservation-based food production. Our vision is a vibrant food system on the Wind River Reservation designed by its community members. We hope to increase the number of local farmers, ranchers and specialty food producers on the Wind River Reservation; to create successful new market channels for local producers; and and to establish food-based learning programs and career opportunities for Native youth on the Wind River Reservation. By providing a systemic organizational structure and support for food production and distribution on the reservation, we hope to build on the accomplishments of Blue Mountain Associates and others to support food production on WRR.
